Arrival and Collection of Our Learners

Preschool

  • Reporting time is 7.30 am. Gate closes at 8.45 am
  • School starts at 8.00am. Parents or guardians must hand children over to a teacher before leaving the compound.  BCS will not accept responsibility for a child that has not been handed over in the proper manner.
  • Children are not permitted to go out of the compound once they report for school.
  • School closes at 2.30pm. All children must be collected before 4.00pm. A penalty of will be charged daily for late pick up.
  • Names of people picking up children should be made known to the school. If for any reason, the named individual is unable to pick the child up, the name of the replacement should be communicated to the school before he/she arrives.

Basic School

  • Reporting time is 7.30 am. Gate closes at 7.45 am
  • School starts at 8.00am. Parents or guardians must hand children over to a teacher before leaving the compound.  BCS will not accept responsibility for a child that has not been handed over in the proper manner.
  • Children are not permitted to go out of the compound once they report for school.
  • School closes at 2.30pm. Extra classes closed at 4pm. All children must be collected or leave the compound before 5.00pm. 
  • Names of people picking up children (especially lower primary) should be made known to the school. If for any reason, the named individual is unable to pick the child up, the name of the replacement should be communicated to the school before he/she arrives.

Junior High School

  • Reporting time is 7.00 am. School starts at 7:30am
  • Children are not permitted to go out of the compound once they report for school.
  • School closes at 4.00pm

IMPORTANT : BCS will not be responsible for any child who stays after 4pm on the compound.

Sickness / Ill Health

  • Under no circumstances should a sick child be sent to school. Any child who arrives at school in an unwell state will be sent home immediately.
  • However, a child who becomes ill whilst in school will be given appropriate medical attention until he/she is picked up.
  • If a child is receiving medical treatment of any kind, it must be brought to the attention of the class teacher.
  • All medical problems must be stated on the registration form.

Hygiene / Feeding 

  • Parents should ensure that their child’s teeth, gum and tongue are brushed clean.
  • Finger nails must be cut short and kept clean always.
  • Hair must be clean and tidy and cut short or neatly.
  • Snack should be hygienically packed and should be such that the child can feed him or herself easily. Food in polythene bags is not permitted.
  • A clean napkin and extra cloths must be provided every day for 1-4 year olds.
  • Lunch will be provided at an extra cost for children. A catering service fee is charged for anyone who provides their own lunch.
  • The class teacher of any child with a special diet should be informed.

Uniform

  • A clean school uniform must be worn every day.
  • Please ensure that all clothing are comfortable and loose fitting, especially the boy’s shorts.
  • Make sure that footwear is appropriate and of the correct size: flat, black with low heels or sneakers.
  • Shoe laces must be of reasonable with safe length and properly tied.
  • Socks must be white or black or BCS branded socks.
  • PE Kit, Friday wear and School cloth will be worn on designated days communicated to parents.
  • School lacoste T-shirt goes with a pair of blue jeans trousers [both boys & girls] or jeans skirt [girls].

Home Work & School Equipment

  • Any given homework must be supervised and signed by parents on completion by learner.
  • Parents will be held responsible for ensuring that homework is properly done.
  • Parents who wish their wards to join a Homework club should register and make the necessary payment.
  • Parents will be asked to pay for equipment or books destroyed by their child.

Termination

Management reserves the right to remove a child‘s name from the register upon notice to the parents for the following reasons:

  • If after two weeks at the beginning of the term a child is still absent and parents have not submitted any reason to the head teacher.
  • Persistent ill health of the child which the school is incapable of managing
  • Gross indiscipline of the child
  • Destructive behaviour on the part of the child.
  • Consistent non-payment of school fees without reason.
  • Behaviour on the part of the parent/guardian which is not in the interest of the child or the school.
  • Persistent infringement of the school’s regulations.
  • Persistent non-attendance of meeting by parents.
